SmartNet is the new Sm@rtChip
multifunction “thin client” computer that functions
as a PDA or a network terminal for Internet Telephony,
Point of Sale, Video Security, other similar mission
critical applications and more.
Sm@rtChip, Ltd. in cooperation with Intel (INTC) is now offering SmartNet thin
client terminals based on Microsoft’s embedded
operating system, Windows CE .net, and built-in security
software.
The SmartNet multifunction thin client terminal offers
OEMs and resellers a Windows terminal with the latest
thin client server-based functionality to support all
major platforms. SmartNet is a new CD size powerful thin
client terminal with strong smart card built-in
communication.
SmartNet thin
client terminals simplify network and peripheral
connection and unit deployment. They are also very
secure, providing protection to valuable applications
and data from corruption, loss, theft, or virus,
minimizing downtime. Additionally, all models can be
centrally controlled, reducing support costs. SmartNet
thin clients lower TCO beyond that of PCs or other
products.
SmartNet was developed in
cooperation with Intel (INTC) through Intel Israel and
their Eastronics division and is considered a promising
product.
